Thank you for your interest in Brooke's Car Rally!
A little bit of a background on Brooke, now aged 13 .....
Brooke is the youngest of 4 children and when she had just turned 2, her mother Amanda was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma and successfully underwent 8 months of Chemotherapy under Dr John Taper at the Nepean Cancer Care Centre.
In 2013, at age 7, Brooke went with her father Gary while he was making a delivery. In the days following, Brooke declared she "had to do something to help" the patients of the centre and wanted to hold a raffle.
Deciding something a little bigger than a raffle alone would be more profitable, Brooke decided a family fun event would be best.
It was from here, at age just 7, Brooke founded her charity fundraising event, "Brooke's Car Rally"!
With a goal of $300 in mind and armed with a letter requesting donations towards a raffle drawn on the day of the event, Brooke approached Penrith businesses. The response she received from businesses, local people and the participants in the event was nothing short of amazing. She totally smashed her goal of $300, raising a total of $7,209.75 for the centre!
With this donation, the NCCC was able to purchase a new ECG machine, which detects abnormalities in the heart rhythm. This machine is vital in the treatment and care of cancer patients.
In 2013, we had 37 vehicles registered and started the event from Brooke's school in Glenmore Park and answering questions and deciphering clues, participants were lead to our secret and final destination, at the Penrith Weir. Here we had our family bbq, cake stall, raffle and presentation.
Due to the success of this event, Brooke declared she would like to hold Brooke's Car Rally annually.
In 2014, Brooke again held her rally for the NCCC and raised $10,671! For this event we started at Panthers Leagues Club complex in Penrith, and had 70 vehicles participate. Our 2014 rally lead the participants to Tench Reserve in Penrith, where we again had our bbq, cake stall, raffle & presentation. Brooke also added family games to this event, such as sack races, egg & spoon races and a water bomb catching competition.
The total amount raised for the Nepean Cancer Care Centre with the 2 events is $17,880.75!
For her 2015 event, Brooke chose to support The Children's Hospital at Westmead and their Epilepsy Research Unit, donating $9,210 to the hospital.
In 2016, Brooke held a Trivia Night at the Penrith Gael's Club in August and her Car Rally in November. Both events were a huge success and raised a total of $13,528 for the sole benefit of the Nepean Cancer Care Centre, Penrith.
2017 was a big year, when Brooke was honoured to be named Emma Husar MP's Lindsay's Young Woman of the Year and Literacy Planet's National Community Legend, winning $10,000 worth of technology for her school. Brooke also received a Highly Commended Award for the 2017 Fred Hollows Foundation's Humanity Award!
Brooke's Car Rally 2017 was well supported and the free giant waterslide and petting zoo were enjoyed by all participants! The event raised $15,203 for the Nepean Cancer Care Centre.
This brings her total raised and donated to over $55,000!
Reaching these amazing goals would not be possible without the generosity of the businesses and people who choose to support Brooke's Car Rally. Should you need the services of any of Brooke's supporters and sponsors, please consider contacting them and don't forget to mention Brooke's Car Rally!
Brooke's Car Rally 2018 will be held on Sunday 18th November 2018 and will start this year from the carpark of Penrith City Council!
Brooke would love to see you there and we thank you for your support!
