Thank you for your interest in Brooke's Car Rally!
A little bit of a background on Brooke, now aged 11 .....
Brooke is the youngest of 4 children and when she had just turned 2, her mother Amanda was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma and successfully underwent 8 months of Chemotherapy under Dr John Taper at the Nepean Cancer Care Centre.
In 2013, at age 7, Brooke went with her father Gary while he was making a delivery. In the days following, Brooke declared she "had to do something to help" the patients of the centre and wanted to hold a raffle.
Deciding something a little bigger than a raffle alone would be more profitable, Brooke decided a family fun event would be best.
It was from here, at age just 7, Brooke founded her charity fundraising event, "Brooke's Car Rally"!
With a goal of $300 in mind and armed with a letter requesting donations towards a raffle drawn on the day of the event, Brooke approached Penrith businesses. The response she received from businesses, local people and the participants in the event was nothing short of amazing. She totally smashed her goal of $300, raising a total of $7,209.75 for the centre!
With this donation, the NCCC was able to purchase a new ECG machine, which detects abnormalities in the heart rhythm. This machine is vital in the treatment and care of cancer patients.
In 2013, we had 37 vehicles registered and started the event from Brooke's school in Glenmore Park and answering questions and deciphering clues, participants were lead to our secret and final destination, at the Penrith Weir. Here we had our family bbq, cake stall, raffle and presentation.
Due to the success of this event, Brooke declared she would like to hold Brooke's Car Rally annually.
In 2014, Brooke again held her rally for the NCCC and raised $10,671! For this event we started at Panthers Leagues Club complex in Penrith, and had 70 vehicles participate. Our 2014 rally lead the participants to Tench Reserve in Penrith, where we again had our bbq, cake stall, raffle & presentation. Brooke also added family games to this event, such as sack races, egg & spoon races and a water bomb catching competition.
The total amount raised for the Nepean Cancer Care Centre with the 2 events is $17,880.75!
Through her fundraising, Brooke became aware of the number of organisations which could benefit from her fundraising. Brooke decided to hold her event for the NCCC every second year, and choose 2 charities to share the benefits raised each year in between.
For her 2015 event, Brooke chose to support The Children's Hospital at Westmead and their Epilepsy Research Unit, donating $9,210 to the hospital.
This year, Brooke is holding both a Trivia Night and Brooke's Car Rally event, for the sole benefit of the Nepean Cancer Care Centre, Penrith.
Following our directions, deciphering clues and answering the questions, you will be lead to our final (secret!) destination. Here we will be having our BBQ, which this year is generously donated by Outback Steakhouse Penrith, along with our family games, raffles, presentation and entertainment.
Each child participating on the day receives a FREE raffle ticket to be in the draw to WIN the Kid's Raffle!
The rally itself is held on public tarred roads, and is suitable for any type of vehicle. Our final destination also has a large area for car parking, suitable for lowered and enhanced vehicles.
The cost of entry in the rally is $15 per vehicle and has no limit of number of passengers legally seated within the vehicle.
Bribes are welcomed (actually, they are encouraged!) on the day at a cost of $2 per bribe, although a limit of 5 per vehicle does apply and cannot be used for passwords.
